PMoA Curator to Give Tour of Current Exhibitions

On Friday, February 12, Polk Museum of Art's new Curator of Art, Adam Justice, will give a Curator Tour of the Museum's current exhibitions, Kenneth Treister: The Colors of Nature and Joseph Raffael.

PMoA to Host Reception Honoring Winter Haven Artist
3 Feb. 2010
On Thursday, February 11, Polk Museum of Art will host a reception in honor of the exhibition Kenneth Treister: The Colors of Nature. Treister, a Winter Haven resident, will be at the reception and will present a lecture about his life in art at 7pm. After the lecture, a reception and signing of his newly published book Havana Forever: A Pictorial and Cultural History of an Unforgettable City will be held. Admission to the reception is free for Museum members and $10 for non-members.

PMoA to Host One Caribbean Evening
20 Jan. 2010
The Polk Museum of Art will be celebrating the Caribbean with an evening of culture, music and food on Friday, February 5. Rex Harris, Granada native and owner of R & R Chutney, will create his specialty Caribbean dishes - including jerk wings and curry shrimp. Other dishes will consist of Creole chicken, Caribbean beef and coconut ice cream with chocolate bread pudding.

At a luncheon held on Thursday, January 14, Polk Museum of Art was presented with a WEDU Be More Award. The Museum won in the category of Be More Enriched, a special category created this year for cultural arts organizations.
