BEST IN SHOW & SPONSOR AWARD "Levee Break," Steve Durow
A Joint Project of Polk Museum of Art and the City of Winter Haven
Central Park area – Downtown Winter Haven
The Florida Outdoor Sculpture Competition, a joint project of Polk Museum of Art and the City of Winter Haven, is a yearlong juried exhibition of sculptures from around the country. Ten sculptures were selected by a committee of community members and Museum staff in late January 2012 from the entries submitted. After all of the sculptures were installed, an independent judge visited the site and selected Best of Show, Second Place and Honorable Mention winners.
Following are the sculptures on exhibit this year:

The Best of Show, Second Place and Honorable Mention awards were determined by this year’s judge, Sarah Clark-Langager, director and curator of the Outdoor Sculpture Collection at the Western Gallery of Western Washington University.
The People’s Choice Award was determined by the crowd at the May 3, 2012, Central Park Stroll, an annual celebration of the sculptures. The Sponsor’s Award was determined by the sponsors and was announced at the Stroll.
The sculptures will remain on exhibition in the Central Park area of downtown Winter Haven through March 2013.
