Polk Museum of Art

Free Admission to All on National Museum Day, Sept. 24

Monday, September 12, 2011  • News

Polk Museum of Art will admit all visitors to the Museum for free on Saturday, Sept. 24, in celebration of National Museum Day.

National Museum Day was started in 2005 by Smithsonian Magazine to honor the spirit of the Smithsonian Institution, which offers free admission every day. National Museum Day offers everyone the opportunity to explore an unfamiliar museum or to see the latest exhibitions at one in your hometown by presenting a free ticket at any participating museum. Visit www.smithsonianmag.com/museumday/ to get a ticket.

Polk Museum of Art will not require tickets for free admission on National Museum Day. Visitors to PMoA that day will be able to view seven exhibitions, including two major shows, “Jessica Lange: In Mexico” and “En Plein Sight: Paintings by Lilian Garcia-Roig,” both of which open Sept. 17. The Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 24.
