The museum hosts several exhibitions per year in the George Jenkins Gallery that feature artwork by Polk County School District students. From each of these exhibitions, one piece is purchased by the Museum to be added to our Student Collection.

Learning to Be Me:  K- 2nd Grade Elementary Students Exhibition

November 12 - December 11, 2016
Awards Ceremony: Saturday, November 19, 11am and 1pm

This exhibition showcases the creative achievements of K-2 students of Polk County School District elementary school students. This year, the exhibition highlights artwork from twenty four district elementary schools. Certificates and awards are presented to encourage further development of these students’ artistic aptitude. The awards ceremony and reception will be on November 19, 2016 at 11am, and 1pm.

Creative Youth: 15th Congressional District Competition

This annual exhibition features works from high school students in the 15th Congressional District. The exhibit is organized through the efforts of Polk Museum of Art and the offices of U.S. Rep. Dennis Ross. The Congressional Award winning piece will travel to Washington, D.C., to be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol along with other winning works from districts throughout the nation.

This exhibition highlights work from Very Special Arts (VSA) of Polk County.
