Pre-registration is required. Registration is limited. Registration will open two weeks prior to each monthly session.

Each month, participants will be introduced to one of the Museum's exhibitions in a fun, entertaining, and accessible manner through hands-on learning for all ages and skills. Labs are led by professional artists or art educators who will engage participants in creating their own piece of artwork or experience their own interaction through a wide array of art mediums, techniques, and connecting conversations relating to a specific exhibition on display in the Museum.

IN-PERSON LABS: These labs will take place at the Museum with your health and the health of others in mind. To ensure your safety, classrooms will be sanitized regularly, class sizes will be limited, and masks MAY be required to be worn by staff, instructors, and students while in the Museum.

Hindsight 2020: Origami Swans with Simoni Limeira-Bonadies

Join artist and educator, Simoni Limeira-Bonadies, to learn about her hand in Hindsight’s featured installation of origami swans, which were created to hang in Lakeland Regional Health to honor the Covid-19 patients treated at the center. Learn about the experience, reflect, and start working on your own ORIZURU and other origami art. 


Simoni Limeira-Bonadies is an award-winning Visual Arts Educator who recently received Florida Middle School Art Educator of the Year. Simoni is from Brazil where she started as a college professor teaching Art History and Juridical Philosophy. Since 2007, she’s taught Visual Arts in Pinellas County and in Polk County Public Schools - winning Teacher of the Year in 2016. Since teaching in the US, the work of her students has been shown at The Dali Museum, Cape Canaveral, Polk Museum of the Art, Fine Arts Festivals, and others. Also an artist herself, Simoni has been published through National Geographic and has won numerous local awards. She teaches at Rochelle School of the Arts, Polk Museum of the Art, and is a workshop instructor for the Florida Art Education Association. Simoni is currently studying for her doctoral degree in History - Cultural Representations from the University of Portugal.
