July 11-22 (9am-4pm)

The City of Winter Haven and the Polk Museum of Art are partnering to bring Summer Art Camp closer to YOU! Join us for a two-week session exploring the arts at this satellite location. Students ages 7-13 will enjoy FUN classes in Drawing/Painting, Mixed Art and Creative Writing in Winter Haven.

Join us for Summer Art Camp! Give your child a FUN, CREATIVE and OPEN atmosphere to develop their love and appreciation for the arts. Camp classes offer the freedom to explore artistic interests through creativity, medium and technique.
 

Classes

Students will rotate through the following three classes:

Drawing & Painting
Explore two of the major forms of expression through a variety of mediums; pencil, marker, pastel, charcoal, acrylic, watercolor, tempera, etc.

Creative Writing
Learn the basics of creativity within writing (poems, short stories, etc.).

Mixed Art
Make art where more than one medium is being used. Learn to create by
combining traditional and non-traditional media.

Camp Tuition (per student)

$200 for PMoA Members, $260 Non-Members
(Includes supplies, lunch and snack.)
 

Late Registration

Any registrations submitted after July 3 will have an additional $35 fee added to the total tuition fee.


Refunds

If a refund is requested, a reimbursement will be made in full up to seven days prior to the class starting date. No reimbursement will be made after the seven-day period.

Basic materials are provided unless otherwise noted.


Meet the Instructors

All classes are taught by Certified Art Teachers and/or Art Professionals. All teachers and Museum staff are background checked through the Jessica Lunsford Act.

Jan Briggs: B.A., Art Education, Western Michigan University, Art Teacher at Horizons Elementary
Lauren Gessner: B.A., Art Education, University of North Florida, CAR-PD Certified, Art Teacher at McLaughlin Fine Arts Academy

Scholarships

A limited number of need-based scholarships for Summer Art Camp are available to those that have a love for the arts.
