The Museum is located in Downtown Lakeland just two blocks north of the Florida Southern College campus across from the Lakeland Public Library on Lake Morton.
The Polk Museum of Art, founded in 1966 by a dedicated group of Lakeland, Florida community residents, is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit arts organization and Smithsonian Affiliate accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. It serves 140,000 local and global visitors annually through a diverse schedule of exhibitions and art education programs. The Museum’s enduring mission is to enhance lives through inspirational and engaging art experiences for all.
