Inspired by the museum’s extensive collections of Pre-Colombian, Asian, and African art, this course will explore Non-European art and culture from the Ancient Near East to present day! In this class, students will learn about artworks from the Middle East, Asia, Ancient America, Africa, and the Pacific Islands. Many cultures, religions, and people groups have flourished within these diverse regions, and we will try to appreciate each for their unique qualities and visual idioms. Although this will be a lecture-based class, students will be encouraged to share their observations and opinions about different works of art as we strive to branch outside of the familiar and appreciate the vibrancy of cultures other than our own.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Sunday, September 30, 2018
Any registrations submitted after the registration deadline includes a $35 late fee.
