If you are interested in working with clay but have little or no experience with the medium, then this is the course for you! This 6-week class will provide students with a broad foundation in the clay forming process. Experience the joy of functional art! Students will learn to create ceramic pieces using hand-building techniques such as slabbing, coiling and pinching, Throughout the course students will build technical skills as they explore the range of hand-building techniques; coiling, pinching and slab building, as well as detailing pieces using a variety of tools. Come and learn to create pieces of art that can be used. No prior clay experience required, all are welcome ages: teens and up.
