October 14: Words & Pictures - The Art of Bookmaking
Instructor: Fred Koehler

Have you ever wanted to write and illustrate a children's book? Join national award-winning author/illustrator Fred Koehler for a hands-on workshop geared toward the creation of illustrated children's books. You'll learn about the publishing industry and how to progress your ideas toward pitchable book dummies that sell! While you're here, immerse yourself in FLASHLIGHT NIGHT, an exhibit of Koehler's original pencil illustrations from his latest book by the same name.

Kirkus Reviews calls FLASHLIGHT NIGHT "a rousing read" with "delicious language" and "ingenious metamorphoses."

After the Artlab, Koehler will be available to sign copies, which can be purchased from the Museum Shop.
