One of the best known contemporary art movements, commonly associated with Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein and comic-book style, Pop Art has more complex origins than many might know. In fact, Pop Art did not even begin in the United States, despite its focus on American consumer culture. Frequently seen as a celebration of material culture, Pop Art is oftentimes just the opposite. In this interactive session, Dr. Rich will go beyond the primary-colored surface of Pop Art to give you the toolbox you need to explore the world of Pop and its artists' true intentions with a more perceptive lens.
