Polk Museum of Art is instituting a series of free gallery talks called "Point of View." The talks will be on the second Friday of every month at noon.
During this talk, the Museum's Collections Manager, Loren Plunkett, will discuss the behind-the-scenes work of collections management. Collections Managers are responsible for the long-term preservation of the collection, ensuring that the artworks you visit will still be around for the generations to come.
Loren was hired by Polk Museum of Art in July 2011 after serving as an intern in the Curatorial Department for two years prior to being hired. She studied art history at University of South Florida and in May 2011, she graduated from Southeastern University with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. In December 2013, she completed the Museum Collections Management and Care Distance Education Graduate Certificate Program through George Washington University.
