Quest with Pierre and Cathy Dutertre
Lab starts at 10:30am
Free for Members, $5 per Non-Members
Pre-registration is required.
Registration deadline: Thursday, February 11th
Join us with collaborative photographic artists Pierre and Cathy Dutertre to explore their current exhibition Quest, a linear story of reflections on life and memories.
In this lab, Pierre and Cathy will talk about their lives and careers as full time collaborative artists, followed by a presentation of the early images created for the Quest project and the final body of work now on exhibit.
The lab will continue with another short visual presentation on storytelling through photography and the many approaches available to anyone in order to create their own stories via photographs created with any type of camera device. Pierre and Cathy will discuss the visual storytelling ideas of the attendees, using notes provided, and encourage participants to proceed with their own projects.
Pierre and Cathy Dutertre are collaborative artists who project their unique psyches with expressive and reflective imagery of the world and their personal presence within it, seeking answers to metaphysical questions through a symbiotic creative collaboration. Their images reflect a constant quest for spiritual, existential and philosophical ponderings, a somber search at times for the essence of life and the world around them. As full-time artists Cathy and Pierre are constantly engaged with producing art, working on outreach to underprivileged youths, mentoring artists at all stages of their careers, judging competitions, and curating exhibits in the U.S. and Europe as well as conducting workshops in museums. They hold multiple Master’s degrees in physics, literature, and fine art. They also manage their fine art photography gallery, representing diverse artists worldwide, with the expressive mission to progress their careers in the U.S. through the establishment of group, and solo exhibits in museums.
