Each month (September - April), participants will be introduced to one of the Museum’s exhibitions in a fun and interactive way. ArtLabs are led by professional artists and art educators who will engage participants of all ages and skills in their own unique experience relating to an exhibition on display in the Museum.

PICTURE PAGES: COMMUNICATING THROUGH PICTURES AND WORDS WITH AHMAD TAYLOR

Lab starts at 2:00pm
Free for Members, $5 per Non-Member

Pre-registration is required.

Join Lakeland-born artist, Ahmad H. Taylor, as he takes you through the processes and techniques used to communicate effectively through a successful picture book. While exploring various topics about the art of storybook illustration, participants will learn how using sticky notes can aid in the sequencing of pictures, allowing illustrators to tell a complete and compelling story. This interactive lab will help focus participants on uncovering the essence of storytelling and ultimately creating pictures that truly resonate with generations of readers.


About the Artist:

Born and bred in Lakeland, Ahmad Taylor now calls Atlanta his creative home. His art and activism has afforded him the opportunity to brainstorm with numerous local visionaries, politicians, community leaders, and influencers. Taylor seeks through his work to open conversations that bypass our differences so we can live and work together, aspiring towards a more positive end result and the greater good.
