COFFEE, AN ENCHANTED MEDIUM WITH REYNIER LLANES

Lab starts at 10:30am
Free for Members, $5 per Non-Member

Pre-registration is required.

Join Cuban-born artist Reynier Llanes in this (literally) aromatic workshop, creating art with one of the most consumed beverages in the world — coffee! Llanes will share insights about his own work and techniques while guiding participants through the unconventional use of coffee as an art medium in painting.

About the Artist:

Reynier Llanes was born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba. In addition to studying at the Escuelas de Instructores de Arte in his native city, Llanes was mentored by celebrated contemporary realist Jean Miguel Suarez early in his career. After moving to the United States in 2007, Llanes’ artistic career began to flourish. Llanes received a “first purchase award” by the City of Charleston at MOJA Arts Festival. His artwork can be found in the collections of Franklin G. Burroughs - Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum (Myrtle Beach, South Carolina), the Rollins Museum of Art (Winter Park, Florida), and the Snite Museum of Art (South Bend, Indiana), and has been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the East Coast. The artist is now based in Miami, Florida.
