Join us for a new monthly film screening series featuring the best in internationally-renowned independent and arts-related movies- The Art of Film.

The Art of Film presents a forum for appreciating movies as an art form. With audience Q&A and talkback sessions with film directors and faculty from Florida Southern College following each screening, this unique Polk Museum series will entertain, engage, and educate audiences of all ages.

The City of Lost Children

Synopsis: A Scientist in a surrealist society kidnaps children to steal their dreams, hoping that they slow his aging process. 

Director: Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Marc Caro. 

Jean-Pierre Jeunet was born in Roanne, Loire, France. He bought his first camera at the age of 17 and made short films while studying animation at Cinémation Studios. He befriended Marc Caro, a designer and comic book artist who became his longtime collaborator and co-director.
