Each month (September to May), participants will be introduced to one of the Museum’s exhibitions in a fun and accessible, hands-on learning experience for all ages. Labs are led by professional artists or art educators who guide participants in creating their own artwork. Using a array of mediums and techniques, the project will relate to an exhibition on display in the Museum.
French Painters Studio Instructor: Chris Roll
Learn to paint your own original “French Painters Studio” themed still life, rendered with a beautiful palette of richly pigmented acrylic paint. Charcoal pencil is used to create a simple sketch of the still life objects onto canvas, before students learn to mix their own paints, and have fun applying color in a variety of bold, vivid brushstrokes.
This ArtLab is FULL. To be added to the waiting list, please email mcarpenter@polkmuseumofart.org.
