Art Lab: Fred Koehler

ART LAB: Fred Koehler

Each month (September - May), participants will be to introduced to one of the Museum's exhibitions in a fun, entertaining and accessible manner through hands-on learning for all ages and skills. Labs are led by professional artists or art educators whom will engage participants in creating their own piece of artwork through a wide array of art mediums, techniques and connecting conversations relating to a specific exhibition on display in the Museum.

December 9: FLASHLIGHT NIGHT by Flashlight - For Kids!
Instructor: Fred Koehler

Bring your little ones and their flashlights! Join artist Fred Koehler as he leads your family through the original art of his latest book, FLASHLIGHT NIGHT. Fred will not only take you through the exhibit, he’ll share behind-the-scenes stories of his trip across the United Kingdom where he went to research all of the art. From climbing waterfalls, to exploring caves, to rowing an ancient boat across a mountain lake, Fred had many of the same adventures as his characters from the story. It’s a family-friendly art adventure not to be missed!

Kirkus Reviews calls FLASHLIGHT NIGHT "a rousing read" with "delicious language" and "ingenious metamorphoses."

After the Artlab, Koehler will be available to sign copies, which can be purchased from the Museum Shop.
