Join us for Point of View Gallery talks every second Friday of the month at noon. This month, Brian Hamilton will be discussing Chagall: Stories into Dreams.
Brian Hamilton is an assistant professor of religion at Florida Southern College. He writes and teaches on a wide range of issues in Christian social ethics and political theology, with special interests in sexual ethics and the ethics of violence. He also studies the history of religious ethics more broadly, focusing in particular on the medieval period. After completing his B.A. in Peace and Conflict Studies at Messiah College, he went on to pursue an M.T.S. in the History of Christianity at the University at Notre Dame. For his doctoral work, he was invited to continue at Notre Dame as a Presidential Fellow. He earned his Ph.D. in Christian Ethics in 2015, after defending a dissertation on the political significance of the 13th-c. Italian saint Francis of Assisi. Since coming to Florida Southern, he has won multiple teaching awards, given numerous talks and papers, and currently serves as Director of the College Honors Program.
