Join us for Point of View Gallery talks every second Friday of the month at noon. This month, artist and educator, Beth Ford, will guide us through Richard Segalman's Monotypes.
Beth Ford is a native Mississippian, born in Jackson and raised early-on in the McColgan Hotel in McComb, MS. As a teen, she attended the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, and went on to attend the University of Mississippi in Oxford where she was a freshman cheerleader for the Old Miss Rebels. While there, she met and married her husband of 65 years. They and their three children eventually moved to Central Florida where she pursued her education and earned a BA and an MA in Fine Arts and Art Education from the University of South Florida, Tampa. An award-winning Florida artist and an art educator for over 50 years, she is a Professor Emeritus of Florida Southern College in Lakeland and still teaches a course there in printmaking.
