Join us March 13, 2020 at 12pm as Dr. Kristen Carter and Dr. Martha Placeres provide an in depth overview of our current exhibition Music & Dance in Painting of the Dutch Golden Age.
Dr. Kristen Carter is an Assistant Professor of Art History and Museum Studies at Florida Southern College. She is a specialist in Modern and Contemporary Art History, with a particular focus in American art of the 1960s and 1970s. Dr. Carter received her Ph.D. in Art History and Theory from the University of British Columbia (UBC) and her B.A. in Art History with a minor in Studio Art from De Paul University.
Dr. Martha Placeres is the newly appointed Director of Orchestra and String Studies at Florida Southern College. Dr. Placeres has been a featured conductor with various orchestras in the United States, Mexico, Italy, Germany, and Austria. She received her Doctorate in Orchestral Conducting from Texas Tech University, a Masters Degree in Music Education from the University of Texas at Brownsville, and a Bachelors Degree in Violin Performance from the Puebla State Conservatory of Music.
