About our Guest
I was born with an extra helping of “wanderlust” and a curiosity about foreign cultures. After earning a degree in foreign languages that was highlighted by a summer in Ecuador and a semester at the Sorbonne in Paris, I embarked on a career track that took me from teaching high school, free-lance translation and private language classes, international student advising, to a 20-year career in international business that (literally) showed me the world.
A love for the visual arts has been the common thread through all of this. My travels only heightened my interest in the artistic history and traditions of the places I’ve visited. Although my own artistic talent is mediocre (at best), I was blessed with a healthy appreciation – and awe! – of beautiful works of art and those who create them. So 30+ years after earning my B.A., I went back to school to make this appreciation “official” and have returned to the classroom as an adjunct college instructor, college study-abroad leader, and volunteer docent at the PMoA. Whether it’s leading tours of fourth graders, special groups, or teaching on topics in art history, I am honored to have this opportunity to share my love and appreciation for the arts with the museum’s visitors.
