Join us October 12th at 12pm for a Point of View gallery talk focusing on the artist Marc Chagall and his illustrations inspired by the Fables of La Fontaine and The Story of Exodus.

Derek Menchan, professor of humanities, philosophy, and music at Polk State College will lead a discussion on the omnipresence of music found in Chagall’s work as well as universal themes of human morality.

In addition to his professorship, Menchan is an accomplished visual artist, concert cellist, and the founding director of “Voices of the People,” a chamber music series featuring talented classical musicians from across the country. Menchan holds a bachelor’s degree from Polk State College and a master’s degree in performance from the Manhattan School of Music.
