Over the course of its history, the Museum collection has grown exponentially. While the 1988 building was constructed to house 500 objects, today the Museum holds nearly 3,500 works in its collection. As collections and museums evolve, though, new acquisitions and loans expand the reach and depth of what — and whose work — we showcase in our galleries, adding exciting new art for visitors to enjoy, while building on the strengths of and filling gaps of representation in our collection. We’re So Glad You’re Here is our welcome party for works that are new to us — and to our audiences — and features recent loans and recent acquisitions of artists well-known and under-sung, across media, and many on view at The AGB for the first time.
