This class will take inspiration from the French painter and lithographer Henry Fantin-Latour, famously known for his floral still-life paintings. Throughout the course, the instructor will lead students in developing general compositional skills and in composing several of their own beautiful still-life paintings. A survey of oil painting materials and techniques will also be covered to aid students in producing their original works. Prior to taking this class, it is strongly recommended that students acquire some basic drawing experience and take an introductory course in oil painting fundamentals.
Greg Mannheimer was born and raised in Tallahassee, FL and is a proud Lakeland resident. Greg is an award winning artist who has taught at various institutions of visual art for over the last decade and was previously an oil painting specialist for Utrecht. He also has a great interest and experience in the interior design world, which is often highlighted through related knowledge he casually drops throughout his classes.
