The public is invited to celebrate and recognize the talents of our Summer Art Camp students with us virtually! Summer Art Camp 2024 features the work of students ages 7 through 13. We honor the exceptional students for their hard work and achievement while also thanking their art teachers and volunteers for their commitment and critical role in providing a nurturing environment during Summer Art Camp. 

This exhibition is on view in person in our George Jenkins Student Gallery from August 31 to October 6, 2024.

Scholastic Art & Writing Awards 2024

The Polk Museum of Art is thrilled to host the nationally-renowned 101st Annual Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for the Polk County, Florida Art Region. Presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, the Scholastic Awards initiative invited students grades 7-12 (ages 13 and up) to submit their original works produced across all media to have a chance to have their work recognized in the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious scholarship and recognition program.

This exhibition features visual art students who placed with Honorable Mentions, Silver Keys, and Gold Keys within the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.

Congratulations to our student winners!

The Polk County Scholastic Art and Writing Awards are made possible thanks to the generosity of Joy and Michael Martin.

Transcendence

Artwork by Polk County High School Students

The public is invited to celebrate and recognize the talents of our Polk County Public Schools' high school students with us virtually! Transcendence features the work of students grades 9 through 12. As an acknowledgment of the critical role art education plays in the development of young learners, we honor the students for their hard work and achievement while also honoring their art teachers for their commitment to the youth of our county. 

Two students will be recognized as Purchase Award recipients, with their entries becoming a part of either the Polk Museum of Art's collection of student artwork or the School Board of Polk County's collection.

This exhibition is on view in person in our George Jenkins Student Gallery from January 9 to February 14, 2021.
