Drawing Foundations (Evening)

Tuesdays (six-weeks) | 6pm to 9pm

Dates: Jan 28 | Feb 4 | Feb 11 | Feb 18 | Feb 25 | Mar 4
Skill Level: Beginning
Instructor: Greg Mannheimer, Professional Fine Arts Painter

Fee: $165 Members, $215 Non-Members

This course is for dedicated beginners who are prepared to greatly improve their drawing skills and powers of observation. Line, Shape, Form, Texture, and Value will all be carefully utilized in various ways to build a set of techniques that will aid students in real-life art-making situations. This is an excellent foundations class to take before any painting course, but is also helpful for intermediate-level artists wishing to hone their skill.

(Please note: Though there will be no live model for this course, images of classical sculpture and plaster casts will be present and used as instructional tools during the class. Ancient sculpture typically involved some representation of the nude human body. Therefore, students under the age of 18 must have written parental consent to participate.)

Greg Mannheimer was born and raised in Tallahassee, FL and is a proud Lakeland resident. Greg is an award winning artist who has taught at various institutions of visual art for over the last decade and was previously an oil painting specialist for Utrecht. He also has a great interest and experience in the interior design world, which is often highlighted through related knowledge he casually drops throughout his classes.
