SOLD OUT - Intro to Digital Photography (Daytime)

Tuesdays (six-weeks) | 2pm to 5pm
Skill Level: Beginning to Intermediate
Instructor: Sarah Baarns, M.F.A. in Art Practice, The School of Visual Art

Fee: $145 Members, $195 Non-Members

This introductory-level digital photography course will cover the primary characteristics of creating successful digital images with your DSLR, Mirrorless, or Point-and-Shoot camera: Light, Composition, Aperture, Shutter Speed, Communication, and Concept. Each of these photographic tenets will be paired with an Inspiration (a shared discussion of the works of other successful contemporary digital photographers) that will help to develop both the techniques and concepts used for your “SOOTC” (Straight Out Of The Camera) images even further. Each completed project will have a critique session where we can engage with, experience, understand, and enjoy one another’s work in a collaborative environment of learning. A DSLR, Mirrorless, or Point-and-Shoot (with manual control - M/A/S/P options) camera will be required for the course.

If needed, students may reach out to sarahbaarns@gmail.com prior to the class beginning with camera/equipment questions!
